IF THERE ARE ANY HEAVENS. . . .

IF THERE ARE ANY HEAVENS. . . .

Carmel Beach

There will be dogs on the beach–
goldens and labs, doxies and collies and mutts
on the white sand, with joy for legs
spinning and leaping and chasing
battered balls and sticks into an ocean ringing
the bells of the air, sun igniting the edges
of cloud towers then descending
to the tips of waves cresting
as another dog rushes into the holy spray.

This would most definitely be heaven. “joy for legs” is a delightful image.

This one gave me a smile – and hope. Thank goodness for dogs and heavens and poets!

The Braided Way

The Braided Way is a framework to see every faith tradition as a strand, braided into a larger whole of spiritual awareness. In the Braided Way, combining spiritual practice from various faiths allow us to explore sacred experience and wonder in forms that resonate with our personal spiritual needs and sacred intuitions. In today’s culture, many people shun religious dogma, but yearn for spiritual connection. The Braided Way allows the ceremonies and practices of multiple faiths to be available without the confinements of cultural dogma.
